We are Tim and Charline Chambers and have been actively involved in the buying and selling of folk art and Americana since the late 1980’s. Exhibiting as Missouri Plain Folk, we invite you to visit us at select venues from California to Connecticut and beyond. View our show schedule. We are known for a visual approach to the Americana market and in so doing emphasize form, color, and surface. Condition is a priority and is guaranteed as represented. Being native Missourians, our attention over the years has been on the cultural material of the Midwest dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of the items you will find in our online marketplace are fresh to the market from America’s heartland.
With a specialty in paint decorated game boards, it is our privilege to work with collectors of these gems of American folk art across the country. The Art of the Game, a full color hard back book authored by Tim Chambers and published in 2001 (available here), showcases the collection of Selby Shaver. It is the first book dedicated exclusively to game boards since the early 1980’s. As dealers we welcome the opportunity to assist you in both acquiring and dispersing of single game boards or entire collections.
