Large White Wooden Basket

Large wooden basket with bentwood handle. Pennsylvania or Maryland. Early 20th century. This sturdy work basket is near 25" in length and 12 1/2" wide. It stands about 16" to the top of the handle. Baskets such as this were made to carry heavy loads. Its remarkable condition is testimony to its solid construction. Painted in the softest of dry whites, it now works as a beautiful country centerpiece or simply a handsome place for magazines and the like. It is in excellent original paint and condition.
