Horseshoe Whimsy

Folk art horseshoe. Late 19th or early 20th century. Found in mid Missouri. At some point in its life an unassuming horseshoe was converted into this anthropomorphic sculpture. Its u-shaped form was cleverly converted into legs and feet by a skilled blacksmith. The horseshoe is offered resting in an iron stand made just for its display.
