Pure Maple Syrup Sign with Sugar House
Early maple syrup sign. New England c.1900. This figural sign was used many years ago to announce to the passer by that pure maple syrup was available. Evidence of weathering due to the elements suggest the sign was used outside. The sign itself is a single pine board measuring 38" long and 8" wide. The sugar house above measures 15" wide and is 16" tall to the top of the smoke stack. The sign is in as found condition. The original paint is dry and crazed. This is truly a quintessential slice of New England.
