Shoe Shine Box

Hand made shoe shine box with shoe. Late 19th or early 20th century. A removable early shoe sits a top a trapezoidal box for the purpose of advertising its owner's profession. The box remains open on one end creating the necessary storage for the tools of the trade. Recently purchased from an old Ohio collection, the piece is in original surface and condition. The box is 13 1/2" in length. With its shoe in place atop the foot rest, overall height is 12 1/2". Width at the base of the box is 5 1/2".
