BICYCLES FOR SALE

Hand painted yard sign. Whitewashed plywood board 35 1/2" long and 4" tall. Southern c.1930-1940's. Black letters with drop shadowing in yellow paint advertise "BICYCLES FOR SALE". This sign most likely graced the fence of the neighborhood "fixer-upper" at a time when a bicycle meant everything from a ride to school, a way to get newspapers delivered on time, or just a way to go out on the town.
