New York State Checkerboard

Game board. NY state. Late 19th century. 16 1/2"x19 1/2" overall. This piece is constructed of a one inch thick board. Bread board ends are attached with early wire and square nails. Painted in alternating squares of crisp blue and bittersweet on a black background, this vibrant game board is offered in excellent original paint and condition. Quarter circle designs in each corner enhances the checkerboard's visual appeal. A folky star game(?) is painted on the reverse. To the bottom right of the star someone has written "Checkard Board" in faint yellow lettering.
