Early New England Game Board

Two-sided game board. New England. Mid 19th century. In this single board both the standard game of checkers (8x8) as well as the game of Canadian checkers (12x12) are found. Done on a background of rarely seen Spanish brown paint, the game of checkers has contrasting squares in eggshell white. The reverse has a background of the same Spanish brown with contrasting squares in green with salmon outline. Made of a single pine board, this piece measures 15 1/2" by 16" overall. A 1 1/4" molding is attached by cut nails. This game board is completely original in paint and condition.
