19th Century Game Board
Checkerboard. Found in central New York state. c.1890. 21" wide by 32" tall. Moldings and dividers are attached with what appear to be small wire nails. Adding to the appeal of this board is its unusually large scale playing field. Two and a half inch squares are pronounced by the contrast of the vivid chrome yellow and black paint. Fine red pinstripes frame each square. The wells are coach decorated in red as well. This century old game board has achieved the finest crazed surface. A game of Canadian Checkers in the same colors is painted on the reverse.
