Yellow and Red Game Wheel

Game wheel. c.1920-1930. 32" diameter. These wire spoked wheels of fortune must have been the go to model in their day. Found in a variety of colors and numeric layouts, these wheels appear to have been hand made on commercially made wooden bicycle wheels. This example in yellow and red has had a lifetime of service that shows in its pleasingly worn condition. A repair to a small segment along the wheel's edge and the replacement of some of the original hardware indicates its owner was determined to keep it in operation come what may. Such dedication and determination is the only reason it survives today providing many more years of the enjoyment it was intended for!
