Folk art shelf. This 19th century piece was found in northern Illinois years ago. Likely made as a clock shelf, it is constructed of clear white pine and is square nailed throughout. A medallion shaped back is fronted with a scalloped 2-drawer shelf. The piece measures 14 1/2” tall and is 21” wide overall. The shelf measures 7 1/2” deep. The piece was first finished in dark varnish, but was faux painted later in the 19th century. It is offered in excellent as found condition.
